Ancient civilizations such as the Nuragic, Egyptian, and Greek spread the use of medicinal plants throughout the Mediterranean. Among the most popular was the mastic tree. The oil extracted from its berries was a precious ingredient in daily life, used in healing ointments and wellness rituals. In Sardinia, its calming virtues were revered as a magical gift from nature, capable of instilling serenity and protecting against the evil eye. The scent of mastic, intense at first breath, evolves in a few minutes into a delicate balsamic fragrance, with resinous and fresh notes, typical of the wild Sardinian scrub.
To guarantee a virgin extract of the highest quality, Native Sardinia has perfected every stage of production, certifying its quality in the laboratory:

In folk medicine, mastic oil is often used to soothe and promote healing especially in the case of burns and skin lesions caused by various conditions. Today it has become a rare ingredient in natural beauty care. When applied to the skin, it gives a unique sensation of softness that remains surprisingly dry. Ideal for the face and hands, used pure or in combination with a moisturizing cream.

The 3 active ingredients listed above have been identified in our mastic oil through laboratory analysis.

We source our raw material with deep respect and consideration for the sustainability of our actions. Pistacia lentiscus grows wild and lush in Sardinia, without requiring any use of water resources — as precious as the plants themselves. The harvesting sites are located in unspoiled areas, often near the sea, sometimes used only for grazing. We select endemic varieties that grow spontaneously, far from residential areas or intensive crops that could compromise the purity of our oil. We harvest and clean each berry by hand, leaving the plants intact, without any cutting.

Very important: our berries are cold pressed in a state-of-the-art facility used to produce extra virgin oil. The result is excellent: fresh and rich. The precious oil is directly tested and packaged in the laboratory. To ensure the best preservation we use pharmaceutical-grade packaging. You can find our wild mastic oil in the best pharmacies, herbalist shops, or in our online store!
